Vail Nature Center, 601 Vail Valley Drive

Join an instructor trained as a Certified Interpretive Guide and Wilderness First Responder to discover some of the most beautiful destinations in the Vail area that are only accessible via foot! Walking Mountains Science Center and the Vail Recreation District operate under special permits from the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to provide learning experiences on public lands like few other guide services can offer! Transportation is provided to the trailhead from various locations from Vail to Edwards. Hikers should come prepared to spend the day on the trail – bring a lunch, rain gear, and plenty of water. Full-day hikes are geared towards hikers who are looking for a truly immersive experience whereas half-day hikes are more leisurely and will return to the Vail area by mid-afternoon. Adults only, aged 16+. Full-day Backcountry Hikes Tuesdays and Fridays, 7:00am – 4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm $80.00 or $75.00 for VRD taxpayers

Vail Recreation Community Programming Room/Imagination Station - Level 2 Lionshead Parking Structure

TRX® Suspension Training is the strength training system that is changing the way professional athletes and fitness experts train. Participants use their own body as the resistance load to strengthen and tone with the core active at all times. Every exercise can be instantly modified for increased or decreased difficulty. A type of "functional fitness," the TRX program gives participants the opportunity to exercise the way they move in life and is often considered safer and more beneficial than traditional weight training. Classes are taught by Chad Young, who is certified as a TRX® Suspension trainer. Space available on a first-come, first-served basis and reservations are required

  Vail Rotary Duck Race

The Vail Rotary Duck Race held in Vail Village on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Rotarians sell sponsorships and “duck adoption papers” during the weeks prior to the race. On race day, up to 16,000 yellow rubber ducks are dumped into Gore Creek near the Covered Bridge and “race” down the river to the finish line underneath the International Bridge. Prizes are given to those holding the adoption papers for the winning racers.

UpLift presents Jeremy Camp and Capital Kings in concert at Ford Park Amphitheatre in Vail, Colorado Sunday Sept 6 at 5:00pm.

Jeremy Camp is a  contemporary Christian musician and songwriter from Lafayette, Indiana. Camp has released eleven albums, four of them RIAA-certified as Gold, and two live albums. His original music is a mixture of ballads and up-tempo songs with rock influence. Camp has won five GMA Dove Awards, has been nominated for three American Music Awards, and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album in 2010 for his album, "Speaking Louder Than Before."
