On Saturdays during ski season, families can take advantage of the Community Room’s convenient Lionshead location, just a short walk from the slopes, to create a “home base” for the day with Family Ski Base. Here VRD offers a safe place to warm up cranky kids, enjoy a hot drink, store extra clothing and gear, prepare your own lunch in the kitchen or even take a nap so your family can revive and refresh…and return for even more skiing adventures.

General Mountain Tours leave from Eagles Nest (Game Creek Club desk) and Mid Vail (Look Ma Ski School desk) promptly at 10:30am, seven days a week, We ask all Guests to be there by 10:15am to sign their release forms. Each tour is considered a “Familiarization Tour” of the mountain and should last about 2 hours. These tours follow green and blue groomed terrain and are designed as a familiarization tour of the frontside of Vail Mountain. The tours are for Intermediate and above skiers and riders.

Our tours for the beginner on up utilize the spectacular wilderness areas that surround Vail. Cross-Country skiing is where it all started. Come join us! We will meet at the Golden Peak Nordic Desk at 9:30am. Reservations are not required. All day tours available see privates.

General Mountain Tours leave from Eagles Nest (Game Creek Club desk) and Mid Vail (Look Ma Ski School desk) promptly at 10:30am, seven days a week, We ask all Guests to be there by 10:15am to sign their release forms. Each tour is considered a “Familiarization Tour” of the mountain and should last about 2 hours. These tours follow green and blue groomed terrain and are designed as a familiarization tour of the frontside of Vail Mountain. The tours are for Intermediate and above skiers and riders.
