TheVail Recreation District teams up with the Town of Vail Public Library

 

The Story Time Skate program has begun at Dobson Ice Arena. This program is for ages 2-5 and is offered every Wednesday at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.  Take your child to skate before or after story time at the library.  Skating includes 30 minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of open skating.  The fee is $10 for rental and instruction.  Helmets are required. Please call 479-2271 for more information.

  Businesses, Bogeys & Bragging Rights Community Golf Tournament

The Vail Recreation District and Vail Chamber & Business Association will host the inaugural Businesses, Bogeys and Bragging Rights Community Golf Tournament on Thursday (10-2) at the Vail Golf Club. Foursomes, twosomes and individuals are encouraged to participate in the tournament, which will benefit the VRD's Tom Slaughter Jr. Memorial Youth Recreation Grant. The grant is used to fund school-aged children who are in need of financial support to participate in VRD youth programs.

 

The tournament will be a noon shotgun start and cost to participate is $400 per team, including cart. Participants will enjoy lunch and refreshments during their round, as well as opportunities to compete based on performance, spirit and camaraderie. Mulligans will cost $5 and those who purchase mulligans will be entered into a raffle drawing for a variety of prizes donated by the community. A silent auction also will take place during the tournament and items are currently being sought for the event. Teams can sign up by calling the VCBA at 970-477-0075.

 

The VRD and VCBA would like to thank the following for their contributions and donations for the event: The Sebastian, Slope Enterprises, First Bank of Vail, Bonfire Brewery, Dale's Pale All, O'Bos Enterprises, La Tour, Bridge Street Ski Haus, Think2Perform, Group970, Russell's, Moe's BBQ, Pazzo's Pizzeria, Bōl, Performance Sports, Vail Leadership Institute and Vail Valley Partnership.
