Here VRD offers a safe place to warm up cranky kids, enjoy a hot drink, store extra clothing and gear, prepare your own lunch in the kitchen or even take a nap so your family can revive and refresh…and return for even more skiing adventures.

Each tour is considered a “Familiarization Tour” of the mountain and should last about 2 hours. These tours follow green and blue groomed terrain and are designed as a familiarization tour of the frontside of Vail Mountain. The tours are for Intermediate and above skiers and riders.

Kicking off the evening of free live music is the classic, alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. Rusted Root
The powerhouse ensemble, Rusted Root, will cap off the Snow Daze celebration with a sweat-inducing and hypnotic live performance. Hot chocolate, treats,entertainment, illuminated paper lanterns and the tree lighting will all take place in Slifer Square by the Covered Bridge in Vail Village. New this year, a community lantern walk through the pedestrian friendly Vail Village will be led by a special surprise guest and helper immediately following this year’s tree lighting.

General Mountain Tours leave from Eagles Nest (Game Creek Club desk) and Mid Vail (Look Ma Ski School desk) promptly at 10:30am, seven days a week, We ask all Guests to be there by 10:15am to sign their release forms. Each tour is considered a “Familiarization Tour” of the mountain and should last about 2 hours. These tours follow green and blue groomed terrain and are designed as a familiarization tour of the frontside of Vail Mountain. The tours are for Intermediate and above skiers and riders.
